Ahead of us we have living proof that the functionality of a building can change over time . Industrial design elements are animating a new modern mansion while making a statement for themselves and their story. A water cleaning station of “just” 5400 square meters suffered a huge transformation over more then 15 years. The property belongs to a former Belgian Army Pilot Tondeur and is located in an extraordinary location, in Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera. The whole process has been envisioned by Belgian Interior Designer Bernadette Jacques.
The radical changes are in the interior design where a new kind of space has been created, converting the space values of an old industrial building into a high end luxurious modern mansion with industrial accents. Sadly this transformation turned the station into a gallery more then a home without even keeping the feel of an industrial building.
The interior spaces are spectacular, the focal point of every space being an old part of the building. Bernadette Jacques used simple, plane, black and white surfaces in the interior to point out the colorful industrial shapes which are animating the scenes.
What do you think about this amazing modern mansion?!
