Spring is a time of inspiration and renewal and nothing fits better than a little DIY project to get that fresh mindset going. This March Lucky Shamrock Calendar is an easy to do memento of those great times when you and your brothers/cousins/childhood friends where fighting over that four-leaf clover, you had the luck to stumble upon.
Similar to the DIY Heart calendar calendar we featured, the March Lucky Shamrock Calendar uses heart-shaped pieces of colored paper, folded in half and glued, giving that butterfly look. Using two nuances of green enhances the texture and color variation from one clover to the one next to it.
Here is the piece, the shapes were cut from. We used a Silhouette Cameo, but you can use a cutter and while we’re on the subject if you use the epic Cameo, here are the best heat transfer vinyls that we currently use!
To make your clover placement perfect, you can print little dots to align everything.
We found it easier to glue the stems first, with the top covering the printed dot. You can vary the angles a bit to create that appearance of perfect chaos. After the stems, you can just go to town with those leaves
When you`re done, and the glue has set, you can gently rearrange each leaf the way you like, with your fingertip,
We thought a green framing will just add to the visual appearance. What do you think?
And for that extra touch, we put a clover over Saint Patrick`s Day.
Here it is ! Congratulations, you`ve made a great March Lucky Shamrock Calendar. Share yours in the comment section below.
To make everything easier, and courtesy of meandmydiy.com, you can download the Silhouette Cameo file here, a calendar background here (updated for 2015). If you don`t want to use a Silhouette Cameo, don`t worry, you can use this PDF to cut the shapes by hand.
Now let`s get into that fresh Spring spirit !
