This amazing and one of a kind project is in fact a redecoration of an old anglican church. The religious building was redesigned with a most elegant taste and transformed into an incredible modern mansion with unique features and looks.
Today we look upon an amazing transformation of an old anglican church into a welcoming and contemporary luxurious home. The project belongs to Bagnato Architects and I must say they did an amazing job rethinking the whole space wile keeping important architectural details of the church.  As we notice,  the facade facing the street, housing the more private functions , has smaller windows in contrast with the back facade facing the wonderfuly designed garden , that benefits from a panorama view from the large windows . The living room is spacious , simple and honest , the furniture isn’t pretentious but the luxurious interior design is created by the large windows with an open view to the luxurious pool, terrace and garden . Also I particularly like the old church visible structure and the ogival shaped window that still maintain a hint from the original building. The kitchen and the dining room are separated by a weak limit consisted in a fractioned wall , that brings a certain delimitation to the functions but also keeping an airy open space. The bathroom excels in minimalism , with simple shapes , little accessories , but contrasts this simplicity through exquisite and luxuriant materials such as marble and granite. Because of the permissive weather in Australia , where there is basically no winter , the large terrace houses a small summer kitchen . The attic houses two rest places and a small bathroom . Large windows provide an open space , otherwise small because of the strog angle of the roof .
Homesthetics conclusion : In my opinion this home is amazing because it merges harmoniously an exterior and interior contemporary design , with a previous religious building two centuries old . The shapes , accessories , and furniture aren ‘t bold but the materials and patterns used really transformed this anglican church , into a beautiful contemporary home .
