Rear Modern Mansion Extension Garden Design by LBMV Architects

Rear House Extension Garden Design by LBMV Architects new addition

Steel and glass reflecting aged walls, surrounded by a carefully thought green habitat meant to soften the perfect, precise angles of this contemporary intrusion.

LBMV Architects has designed a simple but modern rear house garden extension. The project is a replacement of an existing extension made in the 80s of a Victorian semidetached terraced house in north London, Conservation area.
An exposed steel structure is encased in a FW50 shuco curtain wall system to guarantee a perfect insulation and avoiding any possible cold bridge. A green roof is provided to guarantee a better visual impact from the upper floors and insulation.

Usually, the task of merging two volumes of different styles and compositions is a very challenging one and can end quite badly. In this case however, I consider the union as being a success, the new building beautifully emphasizing the old construction, integrating harmoniously into the garden ambiance.
