Designed by Ryo Matsui Architects, ‘Rebirth’ offers a double skin perforated brick facade that protects its inhabitants during day time, reflecting and filtering light in and provides a spectacle of light during nighttime when the artificial light pours through the cracks outside, inverting the process. This small home respects the Japanese introvert life style with a stark white protective facade and wooden interior design warm comfortable and simple enough. The almost square shaped body houses all the required living spaces with dramatic light plays and a delicate interior design.
Reflect on this bold contrast between the delicacy of the white perforated brick wall facade that works as a double skin for the Japanese home and the dark stained wooden access door elevated from the grey ground.
The natural light is inserted into the two story living space through a series of different height windows which opens up the space and puts the wooden beamed roof to value.
The green lush vegetation is invited in through a double glassed wall into the kitchen area.
