La Planicie House is the definitely a showcase of high end architecture, a tremendous total surface of 905 square meters it`s not something that we would usually call small. Materialized in La Molina District, Peru the mansion is more then we would expect at a first glance. The author of this masterpiece, Oscar Gonzalez Moix, has managed to do something that most dream homes are tying to do these days, establish a strong connection with the environment, realize a backyard landscaping that would not seem artificial in a picture by the house, trying to make the home embrace the surroundings and materialize it in a high end luxurious object as well.
As a home in New Zealand that we have previously reviewed, this one uses a U -Shape blueprint as well and as a result the central courtyard created becomes a normal part of the house, a natural extension. The U-Shape is of course oriented towards the breathtaking surroundings, taking advantage of the lot .
The architects are further describing some aspects of the inner structure of the luxurious mansion:
“On one side of the field lies a longitudinal volume that contains the double-height main entrance, kitchen, living room and main circulation. This object acts as a backbone and connects the programs. Three faces define the courtyard; one of her is the backbone, the other two are projecting higher specific volumes. Between the two volumes, the yard articulates the winter living room and summer dining (barbecue / grill)”
Huge luxurious dream homes are definitely the target of a lot of criticism and it`s natural to be this way. We would love to hear your opinion in the comment section bellow on this no mater which side you pick.
