Located in northern Madrid, this minimalist modern mansion stands out because of its simple, monochromatic composition, perfectly integrated in the landscape.
A-Cero Architects are a renowned Spanish architectural firm, famous for incredible modern designs. This project is right next to a golf course which means that its living standards are very high and it’s packed with all sorts of security systems that are also linked to the police, to provide maximum protection for its inhabitants. But this is only a small part of the factors that make this project worthy of its modern mansion title. Luxurious amenities and stylish designs can be found on the both the outside and interior too. The exterior is quite simple in design but very thorough in terms of quality; the straight lines and shapes that come together to create its form were planned to achieve a playful shadow and light game, contrasting perfectly with its neutral, grey color. The material with which the architects decorated the facades, natural stone, is very fit for achieving a rustic image for the entire landscape. The modern mansion becomes neutral, it doesn’t damage the environment and its specific; it rather completes it like the high rocky peaks of a mountain rise from the forest. It resembles a sculpture, penetrated here and there to offer interior lighting.
The interior is very classy, very stylish and follows the same black and white design concept. The contrasts generated by this choice of color are eye-catching and non-disturbing at the same time. It is probably the best way to design a modern mansion that impresses yet it isn’t repulsive because of excessive use of color. The living room, the kitchen, dining and the home theatre room were all designed in accordance with the rest of the house, being generated by the same beautiful straight lines and elegant chromatics. However,, there is one element that stands apart from the rest. The dark spiral staircase. Its most important feature is its curved shape, probably the only one in the ensemble. Along with its color it creates a powerful contrast between it and the rest of the modern mansion. The entire interior design gravitates around it.
More details from the architects:
The house is divided into 3 levels: basement, ground floor and first floor. In the basement you can locate a service area, a leisure area in which we found the cinema and massage room, and second bedroom. The ground floor is entirely devoted to common areas: a living room that is separated by the aforementioned staircase, a kitchen, a dining area and a courtyard where we see natural stone sculptural elements. On the first floor are located the private areas: the master bedroom with bathroom and two closets, three secondary bedrooms and a hall that stands by the view that gives us the large window.
Homesthetics conclusion:
A luxurious modern mansion with a proper contemporary design. A project that should be taken as a very good example by any designer.
