Japanese architecture studio Katsutoshi Sasaki + Associates has created an introvert Minimal Japanese Home with green lush insertions and an incredible play on wood and light. As the exterior provides a stark white image for the urban tissue, the interior takes on the classical Japanese approach and uses large amounts of wooden finishes and a play on the natural light, transforming the living experience into a peaceful spectacle. An “everyday playground for children”, the interior private garden has been created to serve a private zone of the home, preserving thus the introvert character of the home.
The created interior spaces respect a geometric clean line and get their complexity from the delicate light play.
The lush green insertions contrast powerfully to the mild hues of natural wood and bring the natural element in.
Light seems to open up even the tiniest of spaces, making them more inviting.
Light pours in through beautifully placed skylights, transforming the entire space into a light and shadow spectacle.
The neutral color pallet chosen for the interior design scheme provides a serene quiet atmosphere specific to the Japanese people.
