We continue our Japanese architecture line with ‘House in Yatsugatake’, a dramatic bold sculptural mountain home with an impressive cantilever located on a mountain side in Nagano Japan. Kidosaki Architects Studio has envisioned a modern home that takes your breath away when it comes to surreal expansive views and a clean defined style able to keep things at a minimum necessary whilst providing a certain degree of luxury and a fine refined taste in interior design, with quality finishing and a big amount of transparency towards the natural element.
The elongated rectangular shape takes advantage of the location and positioned itself towards the mountain side, using the home’s lateral perspectives at their maximum. The concrete base balances the volume and seems to keep it in place whilst accentuating its elongation.
The mixture of wooden panels, concrete base and glass reflects the modern style of the home but, in a strange manner, does not disrupt the balance of the natural landscape in no way.
The interior is in the same minimal clean key with a design orientated towards the incredible views.
The bedroom takes advantage of the incredible views as well with a long glass wall and furniture orientated accordingly.
At night the secluded location works as a privacy screen and allows the home’s inhabitants to fully enjoy the natural setting.
The cantilever transforms the home into a sculptural piece that seems to take off the mountain side into the natural valley.
