Will color pencils melt if kept in direct sunlight?

Color pencils will not melt if you leave them under the sun. This is because the outer shell is made of hard material protecting the inner colored pigment. But, constant exposure to sunlight can make the colors fade. This is applicable specifically for the exposed color part.

Hence, it is best to store these pencils in a cool, dark, and dry place to keep them safe.
