Two days ago or so we`ve presented you the Rustic Chalet of Natural Wood In Megeve – French Alps and today we are going to give you something to compare it too.
The mountain retreat dream has a multitude of answers from architect to architect but most of them have something in common:the most used material is the wood, being a local resource, a noble material and with unlimited possibilities. Today we are going to present you a spectacular chalet in the same major tourist resort in the French Alps, Megeve.
This former farmhouse has been renovated by a Belgian decorator Lionel Jadot into something that we consider very stylish based on the rough materials apparel with great color accents here and there in a perfect equilibrium and harmony. The most impressive area of the house is, as it should, an open plan living area with a ceiling that has just …12 meters in height. The big windows are meant to bring the landscape in the house and integrate the whole house in the surroundings by representing something transparent yet something that has it`s own place in that specific context, with the material used. As stated above and as you will notice in the pictures the dark wood texture of the wood is diluted by vintage colorful contrasts in furniture and carpets pillows and so on, all those giving it an amazing personal, cozy and intimate touch. Also we can state that the personal touch is highlighted by the fact that the furniture is handpicked from all around the globe from Africa to Asia and Europe. Another thing that we highly appreciate is that the architects have used as much reclaimed wood as possible harming the environment as little as possible gaining sustainable points from our point of view.
