Modern architecture has come a long way over the last years and its examples express a degree of sophistication and luxury which were not even imagined at the time modern design appeared in architectural history. The natural elements though and the connection to them has been kept and emphasized in some cases. The following project has considered the connection between the interior and the exterior spaces as one of high importance. The CORMAC residence has the result of a modern architectural search and an impressive synthesis of styles and elements that came from both the designer and owner himself. Clear simple lines separate the public from the private areas, concealing inside a synthesis of natural elements like water, vegetation, wood and stone, all interconnected in a mesmerizing style. Minimalism but with warm touches of wood has created a sophisticated luxurious atmosphere in this modern mansion, proving yet once again that less is more. But of course the less in this case contains a breathtaking view and a beautiful swimming pool which reflects the living area’s lights in an elegant shimmering way. The residence was designed to communicate with the exterior and can be considered a pavilion which opens at its ends with huge glass doors. The courtyard takes advantage besides the blue swimming pool of an outdoor fireplace as the ultimate backyard landscaping design ideas, creating thus an extension of the every-day life outside. Overall, this modern mansion has all the characteristics for a simple yet very elegant home.
