A superb concrete summer retreat envisioned and completed by Tham & Videgård Arkitekter follows, one located in the city of of Lagnö, Sweden. The design concept attempts to reconnect the inhabitants with nature, vegetation, to ensure a sense of tranquility, breeziness, warmth and coziness through simple volumes that could create the right, relaxing living atmosphere. The house features a great unique design that includes several multiples little home silhouettes that form a series of zig-zagging rooftops, these shaping great dynamic living spaces with different heights.
The interior spaces boost little to no furniture, maintaining everything free, simple, relaxing, the attention of the inhabitant being invited outdoors, to gaze at the breathtaking landscapes.
The home offers a great design language in a simple minimalist line, one subdued from a chromatic standpoint to the environment. The compositions opens up beautifully towards the landscape with immense glazed walls able to slide, allowing light to flood interior spaces and create a fresh, breathing atmosphere throughout the day.
Interior spaces feature stark white and light wooden textures that completely annihilate the passivity of the concrete and its apparent coldness, indoors the airy ambiance being nothing but warm, vivid, bright.
A really beautiful concrete summer retreat to say the least, one that was sculpted by the concept but perfectly completed by execution. What do you think? We would love to hear your valuable feedback on the subject in the comment section below.
