Long time ago, back in 2005, the combination of “art”, “technology” and “management” competition also known as ARTEM is won by a French firm entitled Agence Nicolas.
Michelin and Associates, also known as ANMA are going to unite Nancy`s three top creative institutes:
The Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Nancy
The Ecole des Mines pour la Technologie
and the ICN Business School.
The whole purpose was to unite those three entities with an acclimatized promenade, a common space for the those three institutes, a common space to provide a special social atmosphere for the distinct fields .
The project is realized out of two parts, a transparent promenade with parallel rows of slender on one side by a curtain wall which is meant to support the hugely two tone polygonal roof panels that reflect the scale and aesthetics of the nearby mountains, which can also reflect the attention payed to details.
The second part of the project is constituted by a more traditional structure that can be roughly described as an inhabitable bridge connecting two faculties through the common park, containing classrooms, research facilities, auditoria, food service, amazing green roofs and offices.
The new bridge realized between the three distinctive fields is creating a very comfortable micro-climate along with the largest heat exchanger in France at the moment, for students, teachers and visitors to share their thoughts, learn, socialize and explore in details the infinite possibilities of the thee outstanding fields.
Homesthetics Conclusion
We really like both the thought process behind the project and the design overall and we`re really curious how would you describe it. The reason for which I highly appreciate this make over is the fact that it creates that sharing center where theoretically the connection between teacher and students and even visitors, why not, that is searched in all the university and schools can be welded up. Theoretically.
