About Us

Homesthetics in a Nutshell 

Launched in 2012 on the random chosen date of 20 October, our website was meant to be the public database of four architecture students and one civil engineer, it was meant to inspire us and educate us and the ones around us as much as possible in all things design.

Today, Homesthetics is a global reference point for creatives and design enthusiasts everywhere featuring a wide array of content that starts from illustrations, paintings, DIY projects and homestead ideas to iconic piece of architecture and design around the world.

Mission

At Homesthetics our goal is to find, review and promote the best products and designs that we can find. The architects, and designers in our team are certified experts that curate design and have reviewed and tested over 7000 products to date, a number that is only going up. We permanently update old content and check for new editions of the products that we have previously reviewed to bring you the recommendations vetted by industry experts. Over 2 million people trust us annually with their time and review expertise and we are doing our best to improve our processes. This means sometimes we review products, sometimes we feed your imagination by picking up and delivering a daily doze of the most exciting and outstanding selection of design & architectural ideas. Hand picked with utter-care, we serve interesting articles on architecture, art and design, here you can find uncommon artists or the biggest contemporary architects, we select the things that we consider inspiring, we collect the data and serve your daily dose of inspiration and imagination always fresh. Anton Giuroiu| CEO & Founder

Anton founded Homesthetics, as an architecture, art and design online magazine on the random date of 20th of October 2012 in attempt to save inspiring architecture and art products in one place.

Since 2017 he also joined Architecture Lab and while he is not busy online he works as a full time idealist architect at sculpta.ba in Bucharest.

Sudarshan Kar | Lead Editor

Sudarshan is founder of Writer Shark, he started working on Homesthetics as an author in 2017 and never looked back since. Sudarshan cemented the backbone of our team and progressed from a freelance writer to lead editor in rather short amount of time thanks to extraordinary organization skills and his supernatural powers with them words.

Anna Vaughn | Design Contributor

Anna is self-taught painter and design aficionado that loves pouring her passion into words. In her home panting studio she experiments with all paint mediums but watercolor is her favorite.

In her free time she runs The Little Painters, a painting workshop for children that invites the little one to explore painting through simple and creative means in a safe, loving and extremely colorful environment.

Her moto is “We have only one life, we should make it colorful!”

Bogdan Profir | Architect Contributor

Bogdan joined Homesthetics in the very beginning while studying architecture at UAUIM with Anton, his well-researched, in-depth articles might be one first few you’ve read on Homesthetics.

Bogdan is currently working as full-time architect in one of the biggest architecture firms in the country, being specialized in medium to high-rise collective housing in Bucharest. In his free time he still writes the occasional article for Homesthetics as the lead architect contributor.

Andrei Vasiliu | Architect Contributor

Andrei studied and graduated UAUIM with Anton and Bogdan and he is a practicing architect in Bucharest, Romania. Andrei is a huge history fan and this is well infused in his writing style and the topics that he chooses to write on.

When he is not architecting or writing, Andrei constructs with utter care and extreme dedication fantastic ultra-realistic WW2 dioramas, painting and sculpting with extreme patience the most insane details his mind can fandom.

Ann Hutchinson | Contributor

Ann is the heart of the team, the glue that binds us together. She enjoys chess, traveling and glamping when she is not writing here at Homesthetics. She is energetic and creative, but can also be very a bit impatient and quite often hangry, reason for which in the office launch is always ordered ahead of time.

Ann is one of the key contributors in our team and she helped Homesthetics become what it is today, little by little, word by word.

Elli is the latest addition to our team and the youngest of the bunch, a very inspiring mind, always looking for color in DIY and home décor, she has a very detailed curating process that is greatly appreciated in the team.

She enjoys binge-watching news series as soon as they air, sharing spoilers in the office, she also enjoy photography.

Dylla Setyadji | Art Lead

Dylla breathes illustrations and painting daily, as lead illustrator of Homesthetics & The Journey whilst studying architecture full time.

She is also responsible for putting all brushes and papers to the test and fact-checking all the artistical content on the the platform.

Dylla’s illustrations are characterized by a sensible, delicate line and balanced pastel colors.

In her free time, Dylla enjoys playing musical instruments and knitting.
