Green walls are becoming more and more popular everyday and out of 61 extremely large scale outdoor greenery projects more than 80% have been designed and built in 2009 or after and less than 93% are being dated before 2007 making this trend quite popular and contemporary. Happily most of these green walls have been constructed in public places by institutions to improve the aesthetics of massive walls whilst refreshing the air slightly. This is a very important part of the sustainable movement; the more greenery the better. A few examples of great wall greenery would be Edmonton International Airport in Canada, Singapore Changi Airport & Chhattrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, India.
The great concept is occasionally credited to Patrick Blanc he supposedly developed the concept in the late 1980s yet the actual inventor is known to be Stanley Hart White, a Professor of Landscape Architecture who patented a green wall system far earlier than Patrick B, in 1938.
